How It Works

From first test to final answer

Every user type has a clear path. Pick your role and follow the steps.

Patient journey

You have a diagnosis or scan result you want a specialist to review. Here is what happens.

1

Create a patient account

Register at patient.medsecop.com. Takes under two minutes name, email, country, password.

2

Start a new case

Select the type of review (image review, result interpretation, or direct consultation) and upload your slides, DICOM scans, or lab reports. Files are encrypted on upload.

3

Choose a service and pay

Pick a single-expert or panel review. Pay by card (USD) or via Paystack (NGN). You will see the exact price before confirming.

4

AI pre-screening runs

MedSecOp AI reviews your clinical notes and flags key findings for the incoming specialist. This typically takes a few minutes.

5

Specialist reviews your case

A board-certified pathologist or radiologist matched by subspecialty reviews your materials alongside the AI pre-screen. Target turnaround: 24–48 hours.

6

Receive your written report

You get a structured written opinion in your portal: clinical findings, impression, and recommended next steps. A plain-language summary is included.

7

Ask follow-up questions

Use the AI follow-up assistant to ask questions about your report. You can also raise a support ticket or book a direct consultation for a live conversation.

Caregiver journey

You are abroad. A family member back home needs ongoing medical management. Here is how MedSecOp makes that possible.

1

Register as a caregiver

Create a patient account and indicate you are managing care for a family member. You can add their profile from your dashboard.

2

Select a diaspora care plan

Choose Essential ($49/mo), Standard ($99/mo), or Premium ($199/mo) based on the level of coordination your family member needs.

3

Meet your coordinator

A named MedSecOp coordinator is assigned to your family member. They introduce themselves via WhatsApp within 24 hours of your first payment.

4

Coordinator handles logistics

Your coordinator schedules appointments, accompanies (or sends a local agent) to lab visits, collects results, and uploads everything to your family portal.

5

Specialist reviews are triggered

When a lab result needs a specialist opinion, your coordinator submits the case on your behalf. You approve the cost from your dashboard.

6

You get updates, not surprises

Regular status updates arrive via WhatsApp and your dashboard. Standard plan: weekly. Premium: daily or more if needed. You never wonder what is happening.

Referring physician journey

You have a patient with a complex case that needs a subspecialist opinion. Here is how to send it through MedSecOp.

1

Register as a referring physician

Sign up at referringphysician.medsecop.com. Provide your credentials and medical registration number. Verification takes 24–48 hours.

2

Submit a referral

From your dashboard, open a new referral. Enter the patient details, clinical summary, and relevant images or reports. You can also invite the patient to upload directly.

3

Case is routed automatically

MedSecOp matches the case to the correct subspecialist GI pathology, neuroradiology, haematopathology, etc. based on your clinical summary.

4

Receive the opinion

You get the written specialist opinion in your physician dashboard, with a copy sent to your patient. The report is yours to include in the patient record.

5

Earn referral credits

For each patient you refer who completes a paid review, you earn a referral credit. Credits accumulate in your wallet and are withdrawable monthly.

Lab partner journey

You run a diagnostic lab and want to join the MedSecOp network. Here is how it works end-to-end.

1

Register your lab

Submit your lab details, test menu, location, and accreditation documentation. Onboarding form takes under 10 minutes.

2

Verified and listed

Our team reviews and approves your listing within 24 hours. Your lab is then searchable by patients and physicians on the MedSecOp Lab Discovery map.

3

Receive bookings

Patients book tests through MedSecOp. You get a structured booking request in your lab dashboard. Confirm, reschedule, or decline all from one place.

4

Upload results

After testing, upload the report to the patient's case in your dashboard. The patient, coordinator, and referring physician are notified instantly.

5

Earn and withdraw

Revenue is tracked in your lab wallet. Request a withdrawal at any time payable to a Nigerian bank account (Paystack) or international account (Stripe).

Edge Cases

What happens when things get complicated

Urgent or critical findings

If a specialist identifies a critical finding requiring immediate attention, you are contacted directly by phone or WhatsApp not just through the portal.

No specialist available

If no specialist is matched within 4 hours of case submission, our operations team is alerted. You are notified with a revised ETA.

Incomplete upload

If your uploaded files are unreadable or insufficient for review, the specialist flags the case and you are notified with specific instructions on what is missing.

Dispute resolution

If you are not satisfied with the written opinion, you can raise a dispute. Our clinical team reviews the case and, where warranted, assigns a peer review at no extra cost.
